I moved out and my ex kept the bedroom furniture so I no longer have a dresser for storing my socks and slips and undies. I have huge closets so I can hang up shirts and pants but what do I do with the little things? Any organizing/storage ideas? I will buy a dresser sometime in the future but what about now?
Proud parents (or grandparents, god-parents or simply someone who loves babies) or crave photographing babies the way Anne Geddes manages to capture their various moods to make them look anything from cutesy to absolutely angelic to positively precious and innocently mischievous? You sure are in the right place to pick up some cues from professionals –right here!
We have for you some great, easy to use and simple to apply techniques for getting those coveted cutesy baby photographs you always admired and thought were too good for amateur photographs to be able to capture: not anymore, especially if you have a handy digicam that allows you to assess the subject and the environment before you commit it to print.
No more wastage of camera film, batteries, fear of irritating the baby or even the frustration of having spent all your energies in one afternoon of elusive baby smiles on your box camera: the new-age Digital cameras allow for minimum mistakes as they offer auto-focus, zoom, red-eye correction features instantly so you capture spontaneous reactions of your little one in micro-seconds that they can actually change their expression in! Thus, from picture taking to storing and sharing (by uploading on your cell phone or PC to send across to others) and even printing at your convenience (you can visit online photo studios and send stored snaps from your camera across to them for prints and have these delivered to your doorstep in just a few hours/days)!
Now, getting the baby photos to look professional and memorable is the task we tackle here:
1. To be a better shot, you need to stay ready with the camera aimed at special occasions or at least keep it in a handy place where the baby spends most of his or her time. If using the old style camera, ensure it always has enough film to make up for wrong/missed shots and if using the digicams, ensure there is enough memory and battery life to see you through a series of inimitable candid kiddy moments!
2. Some parents even keep cameras loaded and ready to shoot in kiddy diaper bags or carry a second one along on outings in case the first does not live up to a spontaneous shoot moment, so they are not stuck for snapshots! It is best if you use the camera to capture candid, unstudied shots of the baby sleeping and smiling, which look natural and more lovable than shots they posed or dressed up for. Remember to also photograph baby’s toes and tiny hands, which are so cute to look at when they are past that stage and look cutesy especially next to other growing ones in an album.
3. Invest in a pair of zoom lens to capture sweet memories of your baby at a tender, exploratory age when they are curious about how things work, pulling down items from the dining room or living room table, lathering powder on themselves at the dresser or stepping into daddy’s shoes!
4. Do add in B/W shots in your color collection when taking baby shots as these add a period charm to the whole album; most digital cameras also have a black and white or Sepia-tone setting, which you can adjust to your advantage to give a classic, very elegant look to the baby photo.
5. If you have a digicam, take lots of pictures of a single moment so you can pick and choose the best; high-speed cameras work best to capture change in moods and movements of a baby.

Baby gifts are a fun way to celebrate the arrival of a new baby. Just finding out that a loved one is expecting a baby can make you incredibly excited. You spend months waiting for the special bundle of joy, but if you have ever had a baby you know how much stuff is required to raise a baby. Thankfully you can celebrate the new baby with a baby gift that is useful and cute. Some favorite baby gifts are classified as baby care, clothing, furniture, and toys.
Baby care items can include such items as bottles, pacifiers, diaper cream, baby wash, baby powder, and baby lotion as well as diapers, wipes, towels, bathtubs, diaper pails, receiving blankets, crib sheets, blankets, mattress pads, and washcloths. The wonderful thing about this category of gifts is that many of the items will need to be replenished so duplicate gifts are still gratefully welcomed. The mother-to-be will appreciate these gifts for months to come.
Another classification of baby gifts is clothing. This is perhaps the absolute favorite gift to buy. All baby clothes are cute because they are so tiny. It is important to have a fair amount of clothing as most babies have at least a little “spitting up” and tend to get the clothes wet. This gift generally elicits the most “oohs” and “aahs” in any gathering. Some clothing items include onesies or gowns, socks, shoes, shirts, shorts or skirts, bibs, hats, mittens, rompers, and booties.
Furniture items are usually more expensive and are generally purchased by a combination of well-wishers. A few of the basic items are a bassinet, crib, dresser, changing table, car seat, stroller, swing, exersaucer, high chair, and pack and play. A bassinet is really only useful for the first few months because the baby will be too heavy after that. A crib and dresser are extremely welcomed but if you are giving a “hand-me-down” crib make sure it falls within the safety guidelines issued by the federal government. A car seat is the only baby item that you absolutely need because you cannot leave the hospital without it so this is a wonderful gift. Many car seats are included in the travel systems – stroller, car seat, and base. So if you are giving a car seat you may wish to purchase a convertible car seat rather than an infant car seat.
Toys make great baby gifts and are fun to buy. Some ideas in this category are play mats, rattles, “keys”, books, and stuffed animals. Make sure if you are purchasing stuffed animals that they are designed for babies so they will not have parts that can come loose and choke the baby. Some books that are available for babies are board books, vinyl books, and “noisy” books (these books crinkle or squeak). Once again, make sure the books are designed specifically for babies.
The excitement of the anticipation of a new arrival cannot be matched, but every new mother loves to receive useful baby gifts to celebrate her new baby.

When you are getting prepared for the arrival of a new baby, you bring each and every thing in order to have a full room. You want to decorate that with different stuffed toys and accessories. At this moment, you should keep baby furniture in mind that you should buy such furniture for your baby, which keeps your baby safe and happy at the same time.
When you go to buy baby crib, you should make sure that it is definitely safe for your baby. You should also keep the dimension of a baby crib in your mind, which should be minimum 26 inches between top of crib mattress and crib rails. It is important to mention here that baby crib should not have any decorative cutouts in foot or headboard and there should not any knobs in the crib anywhere. There should be mattress support structure like mattress support hangers.
You should also include baby-changing table in baby furniture. It will be very easy for you to make diaper changing on changing table. There are many types of changing tables. The most common usable type is open-shelf changing table. In it, changing surface is always on top and you can lay baby on sideway. The second most common type if waist-high dresser.
There is also an option of baby on sideways. The third type of changer is flip-top baby changing table. It provides large surface for baby changing and baby can lay front to back. And if baby does roll, there is no chance of falling, as she cannot reach its corners. You should also purchase rocking chair for your new born when you are buying baby furniture. It is such a chair, which provides soothing and relaxing effects to a newborn baby. It is also one of the best experiences for you when you will gild back and forth your baby while nestling near to you.
